Hi, I’m Mike
I’m an Edinburgh based psychotherapist. I help people to better understand themselves and be more of who they are.
My practice
I provide an open and understanding environment to talk about and make sense of your problems.
I work from a Transactional Analysis approach, which is a framework used to look at a persons thoughts, feelings and behaviours, where these might have developed from and give the possibility of having more freedom over them moving forward.
I look to encourage meaning over giving answers and providing solutions. I’m particularly interested in connecting the mind and body and ways of being with this in therapy.

What is therapy?
Therapy is a unique experience for everyone. In my own practice I work to form a professional relationship with my clients, creating a safe space for open exploration of their problems.
Why go to therapy?
There are many different reasons why someone might consider therapy. I have listed a few of the most common here:
Struggling with feelings of anxiety and depression
Feeling 'stuck' or 'lost' in life or not knowing who you are.
Relationship problems (romantic, family and friends)
Feeling different in the world or considering yourself ‘neurodivergent’
Simply feeling as though something is missing
A curiosity to learn more about yourself
Psychotherapy can be useful for anything that is important to you and help a person better understand themselves to lead a more fulfilling life.
About me
I’m passionate about bringing people together, having intuitive discussions and finding some humour in what we do.
I bring a range of diverse experiences into my work. I was a medical doctor and GP for over 10 years, competed as a runner at a national level and worked as a coffee barista.
I grew up on a working farm and love being outdoors and travelling, particularly surfing and cycling, along with music and dancing.
I’m a registered member of BACP, registered medical practitioner with the GMC, and continuing with ongoing training in Integrative Psychotherapy.
